This past weekend, Split hosted the second Croatian WordCamp, first such event in the city – WordCamp Split. Almost 200 participants participated in the 3-day workshop, education and networking that took place at the Faculty of Economics in Split,
Everything started on Friday with a series of 6 free workshops, and the conference officially started on Saturday morning and was opened by Ivan Blagdan from Split’s WordPress community that was responsible for organizing the first WordCamp in Split.
One thing that was very refreshing was the quality of the lectures – from domestic to foreign lecturers. From beginners to experienced lecturers, all lectures were interesting and we followed them with great interest. The organizers made sure that the lectures are diverse and there was no one subject prevailing. This gave us an opportunity to hear technical lectures about WordPress (custom URL structure, REST API, WordPress.org themes, WooCommerce, related posts), design lectures (branding your WordPress work, designing in a browser, dealing with design revisions), lectures on safety, content, but also inspirational lectures (How to start a business in WordPress; a Codeable story, Growth Methodologies in a Distributed Environment, Moving forward in WordPress).
Following Rijeka, Split has successfully organized WordCamp in Croatia, and now it is turn that some other city takes over the organization torch that will gather even more people in an even better atmosphere at the next WordCamp.
